The authors find and analyze reasons that caused the necessity of changes, which took place lately. It is shown that changes in the remuneration system are connected with changes in economic relations in society. The article studies preconditions and possible consequences of passing-over from the regional remuneration system to sectoral one. Because of termination of the period fixed for implementation of May Decrees of the President, new economic reality and new presidential instructions in the field of medical workers’ remuneration the authors propose to revise the existing remuneration systems, to give up control over remuneration rate per individual on average by entity of the Russian Federation, to start monitoring the rate of guaranteed proportion of remuneration calculating on the wage and to introduce the basic wages envisaged by the Labour Code, which should not be linked to the average wage rate by regions.A.
