Sumario: | This article analyzes the strategies used by Paraguayan education to address the authoritarianism of the recent past, fundamentally the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner Matiauda (1954-1989), 30 years after the overthrow of the regime. The educational reform initiated in 1991 is proposed as a key element, to contribute to the establishment and strengthening of democracy in Paraguay, for which it is essential to associate the construction of citizenship to memory policies, which imply new ways of narrating and interpreting the recent past from the perspective of the recognition of human rights violations in the past. |
