Sumario: | This paper is part of an ongoing research that aims to analyze the performance of candidates to the Programa Estudante Convênio (PEC-G), coming from african countires where Portuguese is an oficial language, in the Celpe-Bras examination (Proficiency in Portuguese as a Foreign Language). Considering the construct on which the exam is based and its evaluative purposes, we question the use of this exam as an appropriate instrument to measure the proficiency of these students. Here we will present our first impressions from the data collected so far. |
