| Sumario: | Cittaslow approach is a founded as protection to fast living way destroying the life. Respectful to historical, cultural and natural heritage, cities which are small but their quality of life are big, constitute the main point of the Cittaslow (Slow City) movement. Cittaslow which began in Italy and spread around the world shows up as an different city model in 10 years. Cittaslow movement, the most important goal of which is to increase the life quality of the local community and its visitors, became an international network in a short period. Cittaslow which can also be considered as the model of a local development has the characteristics of offering the opportunity that reveals the numerous historical and cultural wealth of country. Hundred of our cities which have the different criteria of Cittaslow will accept the Cittaslow Union. Besni (Adıyaman-Turkey) is one of small city in South Eastern Anatolian Region with substantial natural, cultural and historical heritage that is suitable to be a slow city. In this study the natural, cultural and historical potantial of Besni will examine in respect to Cittaslow principles making life better for everyone living in an urban environment, improving the quality of life in the city, protecting the environment and cultural potantial. |
