Sumario: | Vocal process granulomas are an uncommon pathology, typically arising from phonotrauma in males or after an iatrogenic injury such as intubation. In transgender patients, consideration of gender as a risk factor for certain pathologic conditions is typically based on gender assigned at birth. We report the case of a young trans-male presenting with a vocal process granuloma and vocal fold atrophy/glottic insufficiency without history of laryngeal trauma. This case highlights the need to consider the effects of gender transition on pathologies with known gender-stratified risk profiles. |
