Sumario: | Nigde province is a city in Central Anatolia region, which has housed various civilizations for ages and succeeded in maintaining its own identity through its cultural, historical and geographical texture. Nigde that has an important place in Turkey’s apple production integrated this fruit which it has been growing in its gardens for centuries into their Daily lives in many different aspects. The people of Nigde who has different games and traditions regarding apple has attributed some meanings to this fruit, from the skin to the packing case.But, although the people of this city and this fruit have been an indispensable part of each other, there isn’t a folk song made exclusively for apple. In this study , traditions, interpretations ,stories and games about the fruit of apple has been put forward and a folk song, which has ever been written for apple ,called “Elma Soydum Enine” has been introduced in terms of traditions, lyrical aspects and musical features.Introducing the folk song mentioned above and drawing attention to the apple production in Nigde, to local folk music and to the traditions with regard to apple are among the aims of this research. At the end of the study, it has been found out that there are a lot of traditions regarding apple, that most of these tradions still have been being practiced at wedding ceremonies, entertainment or the day on which you ask fort he girl from her parents, that due to being abundant apple is served on many occasions such as funerals and weddings,and that the folk song elma soydum enine which is the subject of this study has aspects which conforms with other local songs of nigde in terms of lyrics, traditions and melody. |
