Sumario:The main purpose of the study was to figure out the elementary mathematics teachers’ views about preparing, applying and assessing performance tasks. For sampling, maximum variation sampling strategy was used. The population of the study was 23 teachers working at public primary schools in central districts of Adana province in 2011-2012 academic falls. As data collection tools, semi structured interview forms and document analysis were used. At the end of the study it can be concluded that while the teachers have positive views about preparing, applying and assessing performance tasks, they face some problems related to students and their parents.
