| Summary: | El artículo examina el clásico debate sobre los factores que caracterizan la cuestión social. Producto de estas discusiones aparece una amplia gama de textos y posiciones que intentan responder qué significa la cuestión social. Sin embargo, en la actualidad se ha dejado a un lado la respuesta a preguntas tales como: ¿Por qué hay sociedades tan desiguales, como las latinoamericanas?, ¿Cuáles son las causas y los responsables de tan grande desigualdad?, ¿Cuál debe ser la relación entre la libertal, la igualdad, la justicia y la democracia?. Debido a su importancia teórica y política, el artículo expone unas opiniones más o menos ordenadas en los sigueintes sentidos: ¿Cuál es hoy, principalmente, la cuestiíon social, y cuál debe ser la agenda más adecuada para su tratamiento?.

ABSTRACT
SOCIAL ISSUES AND THE REDISTRIBUTIVE AGENDA
The article examines the classic debate about the factors that characterize the social question. Product of these discussions have emerged a wide range of texts and positions which means trying to answer the social question. However, the present debate has left out the answer to questions like: ¿why there are so unequal societies such as the Latin American ones? What are tha causes and the perpetrators of such great inequality? What policies and resources are available to reduce these levels of inequality? What should be the relationship between freedom, equality, justice and democracy? Because of its theoretical and political importance, this paper presents some opinions more or less ordered in the following ways: what is the socual question today, and what should be the most appropiate schedule for its treatment.
