Sumario:In this paper we aim to reflect about the role/link that the different materialities associated to the archaeological site called Sacred City of Quilmes play (and have played) in the past and present development of the Indian Community of Quilmes. In particular, we analyse the different transformations in the economical, symbolic, political and daily aspects of the relationship between the local inhabitants and the archaeological site and also with other external agents to the community, beginning with the process of reconstruction of the site in the late 70’s.
