Sumario:In front of social indifference and guilty tolerance about sexual practices in the late nineteenth century in Mexico, we will analyze how a moral crusade, undertaken by doctors and hygienists, tried to build a social urgency to provoke anxieties and fears in public opinion. They tried to convince society that certain female sexual practices, aimed "to offend Nature’s wisdom", fatally lead to degeneration and the collapse of national identity.
