| Sumario: | This study aims to investigate Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) from landfills Bandeirantes and Sítio São João developed by the Sao Paulo Government in partnership with the private company Biogas Energia Ambiental S.A.. The paper evaluates how this partnership happens, the stakeholder engagement process, and how these projects contributed to sustainable development. Adopting a qualitative research approach, it was run interviews with different stakeholders in order to build the path dependence of these projects. Data collected from interviews shows the critical moments related to the public-private partnership, success factors and main difficulties. The study demonstrates that the public and private partnership can contribute to sustainable development through CDM. It highlights the role of the State in encourage connection with business and society to promote the well-being. |
