The aim of the article is to explore how materiality and bodily experience can be studied through an attention to the senses. Based on Karen Barad’s conceptualization of agential realism I explore the materiality and bodily experience of gynaecological practices and egg donation through sensory ethnographic observations. My sensory experiences of the three events function as a prism to explore how material and bodily agencies co-constitute the specific phenomena at hand, and I thus offer a methodological approach to the study of gynaecological practices and egg donation which promises new analytical avenues for future ethnographic research on reproductive technologies.
