Generally, these initiatives were linked to events of the shared history of these countries. In 1914, it was publicized the idea of returning to Paraguay a flag taken as trophy during the Triple Alliance War. The flag was property of one of the protagonist of that conflict, who lived in Uruguay. The idea was materialized at the beginning of the following year. Our analysis stresses transnational perspectives when considering the conditions of production, circulation and reception of discourses around these events.
