Parent-child interaction is significant in the areas of child development. The present study aimed to analyze the correlation between children's moral and social rule knowledge and parent-child communication. The present quantitatively designed research is a descriptive study constructed in relational survey model. The study group included 227 children attending a preschool education institution, their mothers (n = 227) and their fathers (n = 227), thus a total of 454 parents. In the assessment of the moral and social rule knowledge of children "Preschool Children's Conceptions of Moral and Social Rules" developed by Smetana (1981) and adapted to Turkish culture by Seçer and Sarı (2006) was used, and "Parents-Child Communication Assessment Instrument" (PCCAI) developed by Arabaci (2011) was used in the assessment of parent-child communication in the study. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS 20 software in computer environment. Study findings demonstrated that there wasnosignificant correlation between the moral and social rule knowledge of the children and the communication between parents and children in the study. Literature review demonstrated that children acquire moral and social rule knowledge throughrole models and observation.
