Sumario: | Events which were seen as supportive tools in the past have become one of the most influential attraction tools in recent years. As a specific type of meeting, scientific education meetings take a significant place in meeting events. When the competence of universities in hosting international scientific meeting such as congress, conferences and seminars have been thought all over the world, both the responsibilities and opportunities are apparent for tourism industry. While people seek for occupational achievement from the scientific meetings, these events have turned into a holiday opportunity for the participants in the meantime. Moreover, hosting destination and facilities have started to become a key factor in decision making process of potential participants. From this point of significance and development, in this study (1)the effect of perceived performance on occupational achievement and behavioral intention and (2) mediating role of occupational achievement on the relationship between perceived performance and behavioral intention have been investigated. Research data have been collected from the participants of 3.rd Research Methods Seminar held in Antalya-Turkey in 24-27 January 2018 through convenience sampling method by drop and collect technique. Totally, 132 valid questionnaires collected. As a result of the analysis, it has been revealed that while perceived accommodation performance has not showed significant effect on occupational achievement and behavioral intention, education and interaction performance showed positive and significant effect. Perceived education performance is the major factor for both occupational achievement and behavioral intention. Besides, partial mediation effect of occupational achievement on the relationship between perceived performance and behavioral intention has been revealed. It can be inferred that the more satisfying education and interaction service, the more positive perception of occupational achievement and behavioral intention. |
