Sumario:Polar-faceted nanocrystals often have complex atomic surface configurations that are very difficult to characterize. Here, the authors are able to determine detailed structural information about the polar facets of ceria nanocubes by using 17O and 1H solid-state NMR spectroscopy, in combination with density functional theory calculations.
