Sumario:In addition to central government and local governments, business world and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have significant interest and play major roles in the development of their provinces/cities. In some provinces, NGO’s which urge to increase their provincial development level, come together both to introduce their common problems with related elected and appointed public officials and to develop alternative solutions to those problems. EGEV and Kelkit Platform can be given as examples to region-based business world lobbying organizations, respectively. In few provinces of Turkey, there are province-based business lobbying organizations with varying orientations, purposes and membership. These platforms lobby for the sake of development of their provinces/cities and they usually are successful in their efforts. First of all in the study, the platforms which are founded for this purpose are summarized. Secondly, business associations’, chambers’, NGOs’ roles in the development of Denizli are briefly analyzed. Thirdly, the aim of Denizli Platform, its projects and agenda, its relations with the other NGOs and the role of it in Denizli’s development are examined. With these aims, interviews are conducted with top executives of the Platform. In addition to these, news, literature and the documents related with these topics are analyzed and some suggestions are provided.
