Sumario:Lifelong learning is an important factor on the formation of qualified societies. In this sense, adult education provides the training the individuals need along with compulsory education and it encourage them to develop themselves. The purpose of this study is to determine the opinions of managers and teachers who work in public education centers in terms of adult education. The design of the study is case study which is one of the qualitative research designs. The study group includes 60 managers and 92 teachers working in public education centers. The managers and teachers in the study group were reached during the in-service trainings in Trabzon, Erzurum, İstanbul and Denizli and they participated in the study based on volunteerism. As a data collection tool, a questionnaire containing open-ended questions prepared by researchers was used. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis technique used in qualitative researches was utilized. The findings obtained through the study were examined under four themes: "General Thoughts about Adult Education", "Problems Experienced in Adult Education", "Expectations related to Adult Education" and "Recommendations for Adult Education". According to the data obtained from the study, it was determined that managers and teachers found adult education important, but they experienced problems due to different reasons during the adult education process. Managers and teachers also stated that trainees have some expectations from adult education courses. In the study, suggestions were made to improve the quality of adult education process in term of the educational environments, educators and trainees.
