Sumario:Value, one of the underlying causes of behaviors and motivational processes determine the content of human behaviors. It is important for undergraduate students to acquire both an academic education and values of for their career in the process of geting prepared for their careers. In this context, the aim of this study is to investigate the value orientation of students in the department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance in Gazi Faculty of Education, also to investigate their values in terms of different variables and to compare their values with those of students from different departments. One hundred sixty seven students from the department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance and 290 students from other departments participated in the study. Schwartz Value Inventory adapted by Kuşdil and Kağıtçıbaşı, personal information and value expression forms were utilized as data collection tools. In this study which was based on survey model, qualitative and quantitative data collection tools were used. The results showed that it was found that stimulation tendencies of 1st and 3rd grade students were lower than those in 4th grade. Additionally, it was revealed that power, achievement, stimulation, self-direction and universalism tendencies of students from other departments were higher than the same tendencies of Psychological Counseling and Guidance department students. Lastly, open ended questions are utilized in order to find out the values perceived as important by students and answers to those questions were analyzed.
