Particularly, the development and evolution of intravascular imaging modalities to guide the procedure have improved lesion assessment and preparation, and stent optimization. However, whether these advantages are beneficial in this particular setting is still under discussion. In this article we intend to briefly summarize previous imaging-guided trials and give an outline on the ongoing large trials that are being conducted on imaging-guided interventions in complex coronary disease.Hector.
