Sumario: | The aim of this communication was to present the initial results of an analysis of the correspondence of Portuguese diplomatic agents, after the Duke of Braganza was acclaimed John IV, king of Portugal, in December, 1640. Our interest is to identify the place occupied in their practices by disseminating political information and publishing news, pamphlets and books. As part of a research project on editorial strategies of Braganza diplomacy during the Restoration War, this text gives special emphasis to the activities of the Portuguese embassy in France in the years preceding the signing of the Westphalia Peace Treaties. |
