| Sumario: | The purpose of this study is to research the health status of the families and the children who get social and economic supports from the Social Service Center Directorate of Meram of the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Family and Social Policies of Konya. Under the research, the quantitive research design is used. In addition, the research has some descriptive attributes. The research population consists of 593 families who reside in Konya Province and get social and economic supports by 01.11.2013 from the Social Service Center Directorate of Meram. As concluded that 234 of the families can represent the research population, 246 of the families is examined under the scope of research to aim at increasing the reliability of results gotten. Aiming at collecting socio-demographic data towards the research, it is used a questionnaire developed by the researcher as a result of a literature review. In the research, it is used the empirical research technique that is one of the data collection techniques. The data in the research is collected via mail. As the data obtained by the research is transferred to a computer, the statistical analyses of data are carried out by the SPSS software package program. According to the findings achieved in the result, the amount of health of those spending from their pockets is similar with the average of Turkey. One third of the families have some inherited disorders and especially families have such diseases related to chest diseases and mental health disorders. Based on these results; the research offers to determine the groups located at the base of society, produce special policies by considering the needs of these groups, provide links between the institutions providing social welfare and the institutions presenting health service |
