Sumario: | From the analysis of Brazilian films that weave a criticism of the military dictatorship, this article examines the dynamic processes involved in the filmic reinterpretation of the past. We will make reference to some films produced during the Brazilian military dictatorship that used historical facts in the composition of their plots, contrasting them with more recent films that portray the military dictatorship. From Ricoeur’s concept of recognition, we will show how some historical films that were produced during the military dictatorship sewed a confrontational relationship between past and present, while the latest movies reveals a appeased relationship between past and present, alluding to a type of memory called appeased memory by Ricoeur. dictatorship, film production, confrontation, appeasement, demands |
