Acceleration of information processing and transmitting has highlighted teaching network media in this world. The process of creating a media text, and the process of distributing a text product, and the process of exchanging information, and the process of using journalistic text with the functioning of other media texts in the information field are changing under this influence. All this leads to the need of a rethink of the linguistic behavior of a journalist as the author of the text and linguistic practices, the exploration of which takes place in terms of cognitive linguistics. Linguistic practices make it possible to represent concepts and categories output, reflect the processes of generating new concepts, as well as new mental spaces with the formation of the meanings of linguistic units, which is indicative of the modern field of media discourse. Discursive and functional-communicative approaches, combined with reliance on the cognitive-discursive paradigm, allow for the identification and description of the types of discursive practices of online mass media in the Volga region of Russia.
