Summary: | A method for online detection and compensation of grinding wheel wear based on machine vision is proposed in this paper. The principle of workpiece-contour-image (WCI) based online wheel wear detection is presented, and the online compensation of wheel-wear-induced contour error is analyzed, based on which, studies are conducted on the developed complex contour grinding platform. The results reveal that the proposed method can effectively detect the wheel wear in real-time and compensate the contour error caused by wheel wear to improve the machining accuracy. The research provides a new method for online detection of wheel wear and prediction of wheel dressing. |
