Summary:The purpose of this study is to assess the prevalence of major risk factors for the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), such as the morbidity of the population of the Buryat Republic with diabetes mellitus (DM), obesity, arterial hypertension (AH). The study used the statistical datafor 2008-2012. It is revealed that the growth rates of the incidence of diabetes mellitus is 18% higher in the Buryat Republic than in Russia; the incidence of obesity of the total population of the Buryat Republic exceeds 34%, the incidence of obesity in the Russian Federation; the morbidity of essential hypertension in the Buryat Republic exceeds the arterial hypertension incidence for Russian Federation on 13%.
