The cultural exchange between Balkan and Turkish groups has formed the base for a common culture. There was an exchange between Slavic and Turkish languages which were used in the region and numerous Turkish origin words, a lot of proverbs, idioms, anecdotes got involved in the Balkan culture. One of the most beautiful examples of these is Hodja Nasreddin.
