Sumario: | Costume albums are visual documents that include rich details of the costumes of the age. The written sources on the culture of the Turkish costumes also include portraits of it’s age. It is understood that the men’s costumes were very flamboyant. The portraits give an idea of necks, sleeves, sizes, linings and fabrics. It is understood that there were a great variety of men’s headgears. They were the signs of position and grade. Probably they were the most determinative factor of the age for the men’s costumes. The cloth models for the palace and the public were similar except furs and fabrics with metal thread. On the other hand the situation for the headgears was different. |
