Results of researches on the topic of social struggles and Social Work supports itself on the Marxist analysis of emancipation as a category and historical perspective of humanity, developing the hypothesis that: there is setback in relation to the movement of construction of emancipatory alternative in this continent, but there are also resistance forces regrouping and keeping the expectation alive; the binding of Social Work to this alternative, as a profession that takes part of strategies to deal with social issues, follows the trends of the correlation of forces in the social movement.
