SODIUM POLYPRENYL PHOSPHATE (PHOSPRENYL) EXERTS AN IL-2-DEPENDENT RESTORATIVE EFFECT UPON IN VIVO DTH INHIBITION

Abstract. We have shown that polyprenyl phosphate (phosprenyl) competes with interleukin 2 for binding with serum γ-globulin. It was also demonstrated that phosprenyl restores delayed type hypersensitivity induced by Listeria monocytogenes, after its inhibition with a γ-globulin which binds to IL-2...

Sumario:Abstract. We have shown that polyprenyl phosphate (phosprenyl) competes with interleukin 2 for binding with serum γ-globulin. It was also demonstrated that phosprenyl restores delayed type hypersensitivity induced by Listeria monocytogenes, after its inhibition with a γ-globulin which binds to IL-2 and blocks its activity. A role of serum γ-globulin and Phosprenyl in regulation of IL-2-dependent processes is discussed.
