Sumario:This article’s objective is to understand the social representations of agroecology to Iapar researchers, extensionists of Emater and producers of family farming. It has a basis in the Theory of Social Representations, and adopts a methodological qualitative and descriptive approach. The analysis performed illustrated the social representations of agroecology for the three actors involved in agroecological work. It was noted that there is great concern with the environment, the health of those involved and the inherent complexity of the work of agroecology. For the producers, the main concern is the financial return. It was founded representations that depict negligence and prejudices that agroecology still suffers in their areas for the three actors involved. It was concluded that the object of social representation still has obstacles, for going against the prevailing current of thought.
