Sumario: | This study aimed to analyze the organizational actor’s participation in the decision making process, from the perspective of social management assumptions, in two social cooperatives located in Santa Catarina. The methodological procedures used, followed a qualitative approach applied through a multiple case study, still characterized as applied and descriptive research. The data gathering was done through the documental analyses, observations and by semi structured interviews. To the data analysis, it was used the content analysis technique and the documental analysis. The study showed the coexistence of traces of social management and strategic management (traditional) in both orga - nizations studied. It was verified that the organization which experimented a larger bureaucratization process over the time, in their structure, showed less interface with the social management guidelines, thus, the participation of the organizational actor’s in the decision making process occurs with less intensity. While the organization that showed more informally aspects, away from a bureaucratic structure, the participation demonstrate strongly and effectively, as well their management practices, in general, expressed with more convergence with the social management presuppose. Lastly, it was noted that, independently of the management practices used, both cooperatives configure as examples of popular associativism to face the social demands, performing an important social role and to conquer the citizenship. |
