At the same time, in the south of the city, mining activity developed in Serra do Curral, which contains one of the largest iron mining operations in Minas Gerais. In this conflict for the appropriation of nature in the city, alliances of convenience were formed between residents of the favela and residents of neighboring wealthy neighborhoods, whose interests are currently converging, in favor of the defense of the sector's environmental wealth and demands for a «right the city ". In this fight for spatial justice in the context of recent ecological disasters that hurt the region and strongly affected public opinion, real estate projects that do not respect the environment and social needs are faced with a citizenry, associative and informed of environmental law.Pauline BosredonFrédéric DumontValentina Bonafine Alexandre Magno Alves DinizConfinsarticlefavelaright to the citynatureland conflictmining Geography.
