Although taking measures and improvements in recording accidents diminished incidence of fatal accidents, our country is still very far from the incidences seen in developed countries. The aim of this study is to analyze data of occupational accidents by investigating statistical yearbooks regularly published by Turkish Social Security Institution. In our study we found that occupational accidents were more seen among 26-35 age group of male workers. Occupational diseases were more spread among age of 36-45 male groups. Most of fatal accidents were seen among workers who were not talented. Construction sites, opencast quarry, opencast mine, industrial sites were the most hazardous places having risk of accidents. Production, manufacturing, processing, storing excavation, construction, repair, demolition are the second hazardous works. Women had occupational accidents in tertiary activity area, office, amusement area, and health institutions in 2015 most. When work experience is regarded, most occupational accidents were seen among workers having a work experience of 1 month-1 year in 2014 and 2015. Workers having at least five year experience were more careful at work. Occupational accidents according to months were investigated. It was seen that two years data were almost the same Except 2014 May because of accident in coal mine in Soma. Occupational accidents can be reduced by paying attention to the subject and taking effective and preventive measures so it is essential that strong occupational health legislation enforcement must increase.
