Sumario:In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the perceptions and opinions of high school students with respect to class environment of biology laboratory and laboratory class. In this study, the scanning model was used. A total of 65 high school students participated in this study. In this study, Classroom Environment Scale of Biology Laboratory and opinion expressing form were used. In this context, both quantitative and qualitative data were collected. During evaluation of data, t-test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for independent groups and the LSD test was used to determine the source of the difference. Besides, qualitative data were evaluated with the content analysis. For the total of the scale, the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was determined as to be 0.82. During analysis of the study data, SPSS 20.0 and NVivo 9 programs were used. At the end of the study, the perceptions of students with respect to class environment of biology laboratory were determined as to be in medium level of the total of the scale and the same was determined as to be in medium and above medium level in the dimensions. From one hand, the students’ perceptions regarding the class environment of biology laboratory was determined as having not significant differences according to their sex, on the other hand the perceptions of male students were determined as to be higher. However, their perceptions regarding the class environment of biology laboratory were determined as having a significant difference according to general academic successes. But, this difference was determined as showing a significant difference for the total of the scale and in the lower dimension of the integration. It has been determined that this difference was between students with the low and high academic achievements. Besides, it has been determined that the opinions of students about biology lab class were consisted of five main topics like physical possibilities of the laboratory, teaching the lesson, rules to be followed in the laboratory, the relation between theoretical and practical knowledge and opinions with respect to experiments. In this context, most of the opinions were indicated with respect to ensuring the experimental tools and devices on the topic of physical possibilities of the lab. At the end of the study, it has been determined that quantitative and qualitative data were supporting to each other.
