Sumario:The reason for the fall of the Ottoman Empire is to keep away from modernism and modernization. Modernism is a holistic phenomenon highlighted by reason and science, which has become meaningful when a combination of economic, political and social conditions emerged in the West. The modern term emphasizes both modernism and modernity here. Kemalism is also the project of modernisation of an Eastern society in this sense. However, since Turkey is far from modern thought and the processes of modernization in the West, living modernization is an imposition focused on the outcome of modernism, which is far from natural. In this aspect Kemalism is a doctrine, a constituent paradigm, that is carried on by the thought of a nation and state in the re-construction of the state and society, bearing the effects of recent experiences and traumas. The aim of our work is primarily to explain modernism and the nation-state, and then to evaluate Kemalism as the modernizing ideology that constitutes the core of the Revolution.
