Sumario:The Nasca produced numerous textiles. Many of them are of exceptional quality, with bright and varied colours. The Nasca dyers probably developed many techniques and tested many raw materials in order to obtain fast and numerous colours : to place special emphasis on polychromy, they had to reach the complete expertise of dyes. We investigated the dyes on textile samples that are representative of Nasca production by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). This investigation has revealed the main characteristics of dyeing practice of this culture : the selection of some specific dyestuffs, the development of particular techniques and recipes, and the evolution of these practices 6over the successive periods of time.
