Sumario: | One of the most emphasized issues in psychology is the traumatic situations in childhood. When traumatic situations occur in childhood, children have difficulty in expressing these experiences for various reasons. These conditions that occur in childhood affect the psychology and life of the people significantly. The purpose of this research; The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between traumatic experiences of parents and child rearing attitudes. In addition, in the study, it was examined whether the traumatic experiences of the parents differed according to the gender, educational level, age, attitudes of their mothers and fathers. In this study, a questionnaire was applied to 328 parents between the ages of 18-40 in Istanbul. In order to measure the attitudes of the participating parents, Evren Karabulut Demir (2007) developed the eveyn Parent Attitude Scale uyar which was adapted to Turkish. Stein Childhood Trauma Questionnaire hazırlanan prepared by Bernstein et al. In 1994 was applied to the participants. The data obtained from the study were analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 program and two independent groups T-test, Anova variance test and Pearson Correlation method were used. According to the findings; It was determined that the gender of the parents, educational status, age of being a parent, childhood traumatic experiences and parental attitude differed statistically. In addition, there was a negative relationship between traumatic experiences of childhood and democratic parental attitude. On the other hand, it was found that there was a positive relationship between all dimensions of childhood traumatic experiences scale and authoritarian attitude. |
