Sumario:The introduction of new interactions into organic transformation is an objective of fundamental importance. Chalcogen bond has emerged as an unconventional type of noncovalent interaction which provides a useful synthetic tool for organocatalysis and has become one of the frontiers in chemistry. This review provides an overview for the recent advances in chalcogen bond catalysis. The current typical types of chalcogen bond donors, mechanistic insights for the organic transformation and future direction of chalcogen bond catalysis are discussed.
