Sumario:This article has as its main goal to investigate some of the globalization problems nowadays. First of all, it is presented some of the globalization concepts and their reflex on the State, considering that the transnational capital deeply affects the sovereignty of it. After that, the globalization impact over citizenship is discussed, verifying that the global era leads to the weakening of the local links between people and State, wearing the bases and the grounds of the traditional citizenship. This article also presents the relationship among globalization, environment and sustainable development, showing the greedy advance of globalization and the advance of environmental degradation that occurs in the same proportion. Finally, some possible perspectives of action against the perverse aspects of the current global era are discussed based on three fundamental dimensions: the functional refoundation of the national States, the reconception of the classical citizenship and the overcoming of the anthropocentric paradigm in the relationship Man/Nature.
