| Résumé: | This article investigates how changes in agrarian reality state Eastern Plateau of Rio Grande do Sul impacted agricultural production units in the city of Passo Fundo. The analysis of the main elements of the agrarian history of the region was carried out in two stages. In the first part, in addition to the characterization of the topography, climate and soils of the region, the training elements are addressed through indigenous agrarian systems, livestock and colonial. In the second stage are highlighted the features of the modernization process of agriculture and its consequences in the rural city of Passo Fundo. They were identified and delimited three farming systems: Indigenous Agrarian System, Agrarian System Livestock and Agricultural Colonial System. In addition, the investigation pointed to results derived from agricultural modernization policy in the municipality of Passo Fundo, strong presence of agricultural commodities in most systems currently practiced. In addition, concurrently, production units were identified with strong diversification activities such as production strategies and maintaining activities in rural Passo Fundo and region. |
