Dietary essential amino acids restore liver metabolism in ovariectomized mice via hepatic estrogen receptor α

Menopause is associated with metabolic changes and an increased risk of a number of chronic diseases. Here, the authors show in a mouse model of menopause that an amino acid-enriched diet rescues liver lipid metabolism and prevents weight gain in a manner dependent on hepatic ERα.
