Sumario:This study attempts to identify the predominant learning style of accounting undergraduate course students in the modalities of classroom learning and distance education in both public and private institutions in the state of Bahia. To achieve the proposed objectives the Learning Style Inventory (LSI) was used. The participants in this study consisted of 459 students from the accounting course. In the statistical analysis, it was found that there was a predominance of assimilating learning style, represented by people who learn through reflective observation and abstract conceptualization. Thus, this study contributes to improving teaching and learning in accounting, as it enables the involved institutions to get to know the learning style of the students. Therefore, to create cognitive mechanisms that facilitate the processing of information while allowing to direct their leading methodology taking into account the predominant style and the stimulation of secondary styles.
