To achieve the proposed objectives the Learning Style Inventory (LSI) was used. The participants in this study consisted of 459 students from the accounting course. In the statistical analysis, it was found that there was a predominance of assimilating learning style, represented by people who learn through reflective observation and abstract conceptualization. Thus, this study contributes to improving teaching and learning in accounting, as it enables the involved institutions to get to know the learning style of the students.
