Landsat TM image data were evaluated to determine their abihty to discriminate this vegetation among others. An autmnated unsupervised wmputer classiñcation was performed and the results verificad on ground. Results showed a classification accuracy of 73 percent. Fmally, the tropical dry forest could be identified among other associations, but the interna1 variations were not easy to identify.
