One of this uprisings was occured in Antep in 1895. After Turks and Kurds the vast majority was teh Armenians, and they werewitholding the commerce and the arts of Gaziantep. The number of the Armenians who were dealing with farms and animal feeding were very few. Also there were Armenians who used to work on trade and industry with the Turks together. The Armenian Hunchakian committee started the uprisings on the sixteenth of November of 1895 on the purpose of srating an ethnic-religious conflict between Moslem and Armenian citizens of Antep. As well as in other parts of Anatolia where Armenian population was concentrated in, at Gaziantep -which is the second largest city in the Province of Aleppo- Armenian youthes were gagning up through schools. Both in the missionary schools’ and in the Armneians’ own schools separatist ideas were indoctrinating to young Armenian pupils. In organization of Hunchakian committee, the active role was undertook by the school teachers in antep.In fact, the branches of Hunchakian committee, of Gaziantep and Kilis Hinchak were carrying out their activities under the leadership of school teachers. İn this study, the uprising of 1895 and the role of the missionaries’s in this uprisings are examined.
