| Sumario: | The media, developing rapidly with the experiences of various steps after the invention of the writing has become one of the most effective and common tool of the mass media at the present time. The power and effect of Turkish media which was started with the different newspapers emerged in the last years of Ottoman Empire showed themselves in the on-going hard times after the period of First World War, Post-truce and National Struggle. The media filled an important gap in the issues of reporting characteristic features of each period to the public within the scope of different political and social developments also in the Republic Period. In addition to the national media, the local media contributed to filling the gap with its unique style and the power and effect of the media were increased with the local media. Although the local media has been active in the local perspective, they are very important as they reflected certain features of its period. In fact, they not only presented the local features of the city of publication, but also gave additional data and documents related to the political, the social and the economic features of the country. The aim of this study is to present knowledge on the local media in Erzincan within the period of early multi-party system to the 1960 strike; demonstrate all aspects of the relationships between the media and politics and lastly investigate the media censor subjected by the strike and the pressure of the CHP and DP governments over the media. For this aim, it was intended to reach concrete facts about the features of the period with the comparison of newspapers by being reached all the copies of the newspapers published in the aforementioned period in Erzincan. |
