Sumario:This paper is focusing on territorial settlement and organization in the Jebel Demmer during the Medieval period, when this area of Southern Ifrîqiya was still mainly populated with Ibâḍî communities, themselves divided into various sub-sects. After dealing with the limits of this territory, this article gives some proposals on the emergence of the qsûr and their typology. Their development as base units in the organization of local space could have been linked to the Banû Hilâl invasion, that seems to have pushed an important flow of Ibâḍî population towards this region, making it a major refuge for this minority in Ifrîqiyya. Finally, the slowly spread of Malekism is evoked until the beginning of the 15th c., when it was still not fully completed.
