Sumario: | In this framework, the aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between secondary school eachers’ work alienation and organizational cynicism perceptions.The organizational cynicism can be defined as negative behavior of a person who works for an organization.To be influenced by many different factors in organizational life causes differences in employees’ attitudes towards the organization. As some of these factors affect employees’ attitudes towards organization positively, some affects negatively. There is alienation in school organization, just like all the structures within society. And this problem is hardly possible to eliminate. The most important aspect in this sense is the level of the felt or endured alienation. Having a life of high rank threatens the functioning school organization, thus preventing it from operating healthily. The population of the study is formed by secondary school teachers (n:202) working in the city center of Bolu in 2012-2013 academic year. The data were collected through “Work Alienation Scale” developed by Elma (2003) and “Organizational Cynicism Scale” developed by Brandes, Dharwadkar ve Dean (1999) adapted into Turkish by Kalağan (2009). To analyze the data, SPSS 16.0 program was used and descriptive statistics as; frequency, percentage, meanscore, standart deviation and correlation, were used. The findings of the study revealed correlation between secondary school teachers’ work alienation and organizational cynicism perceptions. A high positive correlation was found between the work alienation and organizational cynicism perceptions of secondary school teachers. |
