Sumario: | In a period of dramatic technological change (Kellner, 2000) Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are developing exponentially and this has inevitably had an impact on how learning and literacy in the 21st century are being redefined (Benson & Chik, 2010). For this reason, educators have the need and the responsibility to adapt and integrate the curricula into a new digital context (Schmar-Dobler, 2003), making use of available digital tools in order to ensure that education is relevant to the demands of today’s society (Kress, 2003; Luzón, 2002). This article highlights the role of digital literacy to foster reading comprehension on the Internet in order to solve problems, activities, tasks; or simply to satisfy learners’ needs by providing an overview of one pedagogical intervention and qualitative data that shows its successful implementation.
